t\u00edpico de los tensioactivos basados en sulfatos. Se abrevia como SDS, y tambi\u00e9n se conoce como AS, K12, sulfato de alcohol de coco, lauril sulfato s\u00f3dico y agente espumante. Los productos comerciales suelen ser polvo cristalino entre blanco y amarillo claro. No es t\u00f3xico, es ligeramente soluble en alcohol, insoluble en cloroformo y \u00e9ter, soluble en agua y tiene buena compatibilidad con complejos ani\u00f3nicos y no i\u00f3nicos. Tiene buena emulsibilidad, espumabilidad y propiedades espumantes, infiltrantes, descontaminantes y dispersantes. Es abundante en espumas y r\u00e1pidamente biodegradable, y tiene una solubilidad s\u00f3lo comparable a la del alcohol graso \u00e9ter polioxietileno sulfato s\u00f3dico (abreviado como AES). No es sensible a los \u00e1lcalis ni al agua dura, pero su estabilidad es inferior a la del sulfonato general en condiciones \u00e1cidas y se aproxima a la del AES.
